Last day of the year ?! Do we have to party ?

According to the Western world, today is the last day of the year. This date is synonymous with celebration, so we’ll eat and drink, perhaps until we can’t anymore, dance all night, watch fireworks, hear words from the president, and everywhere we’ll hear “Happy New Year!!!” The world becomes effervescent. But just because it’s a massive celebration doesn’t mean we must absolutely adhere to it. Why not question this festive injunction a little bit!?

How are we emotionally educated ?

As children, a large part of us goes to school. There, we learn to read, write, and count, and then we delve deeper. We learn about sciences or languages, sometimes civic education… but we don’t learn one important thing for our whole life, we don’t learn to listen to ourselves, we don’t learn to know ourselves.

Freeing oneself from guilt lightens the load immensely !

One of the most commonly used emotions to get what we want from others is guilt. Not only do some religious systems encourage guilt, but also the education model where failure is not celebrated but condemned, and where the message of guilt has been passed down from generation to generation since our earliest age. For many of us, this has resulted in somewhat dysfunctional behavior, where we act more to avoid the feeling of guilt rather than making conscious decisions that would lead to well-being, our well-being.

Let’s reflect on relationships—what do they imply? Are we very conscious of our perception of them? Do we adopt a model we are taught, or do we create our own framework that fits us? As a result, do we cultivate relationships that also fit us? Here a reflection n relationships.
